Webster Detention Release Paths
Union County's official jail page says its arrestees are transported to Webster County Detention Center. Webster is therefore the operating jail that processes the physical exit for a person held on a Union charge. A person may leave for the community after bond, dismissal, time served, sentence completion, or another court order. That exit does not always end the court case. Webster's custody record should show when jail staff completed release processing, while the Union County court file explains the legal authority for it.
Leaving Webster can also mean transfer, not community release. A person may move to the Kentucky Department of Corrections, another county jail, federal custody, or immigration custody. A state-sentenced person may later appear in the Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, known as KOOL. An immigration transfer may require a check of the federal detainee locator. The receiving system matters because removal from Webster's list only shows that the person is no longer displayed as held there.
| Exit path | Best confirmation |
|---|---|
| Community release | Webster custody record, VINE, and Union court order |
| KDOC transfer | Webster transfer entry and KOOL |
| Other jail | Webster record and receiving jail roster |
| Federal or ICE custody | Webster transfer record and the relevant federal locator |
Confirm Webster County Releases
The official Webster page is titled Current Inmates. It is a live-custody list, not a released-person archive. A current match supports present detention at Webster. A missing match does not prove release to the community, give an exit time, or identify a transfer. Use a short chain that checks both physical custody and the Union case.
- Search Webster's current list with the person's name. Record only whether a current match appears.
- Call the offender-information line published by Union County or the main Webster facility number. Ask whether the person was released or transferred.
- Search Kentucky VINE. Kentucky guidance says a noncustody response can provide the release date, but duplicate local and state records should both be reviewed.
- Ask the Union Circuit Court Clerk for the order or docket entry that explains bond, dismissal, sentence, probation, or another disposition.
- Use KOOL and Kentucky's Daily Releases archive when state custody or supervision is possible.
The full Union County released inmate search separates jail, court, state, and federal sources. Name and date of birth help avoid a same-name error. Booking, case, PID, or DOC numbers are stronger identifiers when available.
Webster Release Records Contact
Webster County Detention Center is the proper first custodian for the physical booking and release event. Ask for existing records instead of asking staff to create a new explanation. A focused request identifies the person and a reasonable date range, then seeks the booking sheet, custody-status or release record, release date and time, release or transfer category and destination if recorded, bond-processing entry, booking photograph, and relevant custody log.

The two phone numbers come from different official sources and should not be treated as a contradiction. Webster's directions and contact page publishes the main line. Union County separately refers offender-information calls to the other number. No official Webster release-record copy fee, retention schedule, correction channel, or promised response time was found. Ask about those points before submitting or traveling.
Webster Detention Center Scope
Webster County Detention Center is an operating county detention center in Dixon. It serves Union County through an intercounty housing arrangement and also holds people connected to Webster County. Qualified state inmates may be housed locally as well. These groups do not share one release-record path. A jail-only Union detainee may never appear in KOOL, while a state-sentenced person housed at Webster may have both local custody records and KDOC records.
The official jail programs page lists voluntary religious services, GED, Alcoholics Anonymous, Moral Reconation Therapy, NCRC classes, and a Class D work program. Those programs describe facility operations. They do not establish that any named person took part, earned sentence credit, or qualified for release. Individual release decisions remain tied to the court order, sentence calculation, bond, holds, and jail processing.
Webster Bond Release Details
Bond is a common community exit, but Union's two-county arrangement affects where questions go. Webster's official bond page says payments are cash only and require exact change. It lists a $31 booking fee and a $5 jail bond fee for a person bonding out. Official indexed guidance distinguishes courthouse payment during courthouse hours from jail payment for cash or surety bonds when the courthouse is closed.
For a bond of $10,000 or more, the Union court page directs callers to the Circuit Clerk at 270-389-1811. Confirm the bond type, total amount, accepted location, and timing before travel. A signed bond order is the legal step. Webster staff still must finish identity checks, hold checks, paperwork, property return, and the actual custody exit. The court time and jail release time can therefore differ.
A bond release ends the current jail hold only if no other detainer or case keeps the person in custody. It does not dismiss the Union County charge.
Webster Release Record Fields
No official Webster field dictionary was located, so exact labels should not be invented. A useful request can still name the existing data needed to verify the event. Identity fields may include the legal name, date of birth, booking number, aliases, case number, and charges. Event fields may include booking date and time, release date and time, release or transfer type, destination, bond entry, custody log, and booking photograph.
- Release
- A physical exit from Webster custody, which may be to the community or another authority.
- Transfer
- A custody handoff in which the person remains confined elsewhere.
- Time served
- Release after the calculated jail term or sentence has been satisfied.
- Detainer
- A request or legal basis for another authority to assume custody.
The Union court file supplies the legal cause but may not show the moment Webster completed processing. VINE supplies a reported custody change and may lag behind the facility. Compare dates instead of forcing the three systems into one timestamp.
Webster Releases and ICE Transfers
Union County Sheriff's participation in the federal 287(g) Task Force Model does not make Webster an ICE detention contract facility. ICE describes that model as limited delegated authority used during routine law-enforcement activity under federal supervision. It differs from jail enforcement and detention contracting.
If ICE assumes custody when Webster ends its hold, removal from the current list marks a transfer, not a community release. Check Webster's transfer record and the ICE Online Detainee Locator System. The locator covers current and limited recent ICE custody, can have delays, and does not include everyone. A missing result is not proof of freedom. ICE's detainer explanation also notes the limited period in which a local agency may hold a person for transfer after ordinary release authority arises.
After a Webster County Release
Post-release supervision depends on the case. Probation is court-ordered community supervision, often instead of confinement. Parole is conditional release from a state sentence before its maximum end. Mandatory Reentry Supervision is another Kentucky status near sentence completion. KOOL can show those statuses, begin and end dates, and the supervising location for people in the state system. The Union satellite of KDOC District 13 is the local human-verification channel.
A fully jail-only release may have no KOOL entry. In that case, Webster's record, Kentucky VINE, and the Union court order remain the main sources. For ongoing supervision questions, use Parole / Probation. For a state sentence date, use the Inmate Release Date resource. Neither projected dates nor supervision records replace proof of Webster's actual exit.
Routine release hours, the physical exit door, weekend and holiday processing, property-return steps, and any family waiting area were not published in the research. Call Webster directly rather than assuming a standard jail schedule.
