Find Union County Released Mugshots

Finding the mugshot of a released Union County inmate starts with the agency that made the image. Union County no longer operates an active jail, so Webster County Detention Center books local arrestees and is the likely custodian of a local booking photo. State offender images follow a different Kentucky corrections path. A photograph can help identify the right person, but it does not prove release, guilt, or the result of a case. The photo must be checked against a custody record, release date, and Union County court disposition to understand what happened after booking.

Union County Mugshot Sources

A Union County booking image may surface through more than one custodian, and each image has a distinct origin. Webster creates the local booking photograph because it holds Union arrestees. KDOC creates or maintains offender photographs for people in the state corrections system. Official press releases may reproduce an arrest image for a particular event. No official sheriff mobile app or recurring Union/Webster release-news photo archive was found.

Channel Photo availability How to access
Webster current roster Photo may appear on a current detail, but direct field verification was limited Check the official current-inmates endpoint, then verify with staff.
Webster booking record Booking photo may be requestable Ask the booking custodian for the existing electronic image.
KDOC KOOL Most, but not all, state offenders have a photo Search the official state offender record and open its detail.
Official press release Sometimes Use the issuing agency or news record, then check case status.
Commercial remnants Possible, often stale No commercial mugshot source is linked or endorsed.

The Webster Current Inmates page is not a released-person archive. A photo shown there belongs to the booking or custody record. When the person leaves the live roster, direct request is the better local route.

Request Union County Booking Photos

Address a local photo request to Webster County Detention Center because Webster performs the booking and confinement. The official facility is at 141 Stegal Street, Dixon, KY 42409. Union County publishes 270-639-7022 for offender information, while Webster’s directions page gives 270-639-7032. Preserve that distinction when calling.

  1. Identify the person by full name and one more known identifier.
  2. Give a narrow booking or custody date range.
  3. Request the existing booking photograph, booking sheet, and release or custody-status record.
  4. Ask for the image in its existing electronic format.
  5. If part of the file is exempt, request the segregable nonexempt portion and the legal basis for any denial.
  6. Compare the returned photo and identifiers with the Union County court case.

No verified Webster-specific photograph fee, formal publication policy, or online request form was located. Do not assume a price or response method. Kentucky open-records law permits reasonable copying and mechanical reproduction charges, while noncommercial requesters may be charged the actual cost of media, mechanical processing, and postage. Ask the custodian what applies before sending payment.

Note: Requesting the release record with the image prevents a booking photograph from being mistaken for proof of present custody or later case outcome.

KDOC Union County Offender Photos

The Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, called KOOL, covers KDOC custody and community supervision. It does not cover every person booked at Webster. KOOL result rows use a camera indicator, and detail records may display a state offender image. KDOC says most, not all, offenders have photographs. Intake posting can take several days, and images are updated at least once each year or after a major appearance change.

A KOOL photograph is not necessarily the Webster booking image. It belongs to a state offender record. Check the PID or DOC number, status, location, descriptors, aliases, and conviction information before concluding that two records concern the same person. An “Active Inmate” status means state confinement. Parole, probation, or Mandatory Reentry Supervision reflects community supervision. Neither the image nor a photo icon independently proves when the person left Webster.

Expungement
A court process that removes or restricts qualifying records under law.

Verify Union County Mugshot Identity

Match the picture to records, not resemblance alone. Names can be shared, spellings can differ, and old photos may no longer look current. The strongest match uses a booking number, date of birth, court case number, or PID/DOC number. Compare the booking date and charge with the Union County case, then use the release record to identify the later custody event.

Check Why it matters
Name and aliases Finds spelling variants without treating them as separate people.
Date of birth Separates people who share a name.
Booking or offender number Connects the image to one agency record.
Booking date Ties the photo to one custody episode.
Case number and charge Links the booking to the correct Union court file.
Release date and type Shows what followed the photographed booking.

For a current or past local custody check, use Webster, VINE, and the Union clerk. For state custody or supervision, add KOOL and KDOC release records. A federal or immigration transfer requires its own locator. The full Union County released inmate lookup explains those separate systems.

Kentucky Mugshot Publication Limits

Kentucky does not make every booking photograph secret. Instead, KRS 61.8746 targets a specific commercial practice. It addresses publishers that obtain agency booking or inmate photographs for commercial publication and then condition removal on payment or other consideration. The statute provides court remedies and escalating damages. It is an anti-pay-to-remove measure, not a blanket ban on public access.

A person should not have to pay a commercial removal service to ask the official custodian about an official record. This page does not link to mugshot publishers, data brokers, or removal vendors. A commercial copy may be old, may remain online after release, and may omit the final court result. Only the government record can establish what the originating agency maintains.

Public-record limit. This privately operated resource is not a consumer reporting agency. Mugshot information may not be used for employment, housing, tenant, credit, insurance, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.

Union County Expungement Timing

Expungement can explain why an image or related case material expected from an older search is no longer public. Kentucky’s official expungement information describes qualifying processes for certain records. An order can reach arrest photographs and is distributed to relevant agencies. Once an agency acts on a lawful order, absence is expected rather than evidence of a broken search.

The timing differs from the date someone walked out of jail. Kentucky’s felony expungement clock generally runs from the later of sentence completion or successful probation or parole completion. A person may have been physically released years before that period begins. This distinction matters in Union County because Webster controls the jail image, Union courts control the case, and KDOC may control a state offender photo or supervision record.

Expungement does not guarantee that every independently held copy disappeared. It does change what official agencies may disclose. If a record cannot be found, ask the responsible clerk or custodian whether access is restricted rather than assuming the person was never booked.

Note: A removed official photo does not change the need to verify any remaining copy against the current court and custody record.

Released Union County Photo Context

A released person usually disappears from a current-only jail roster. That makes a photo gallery a poor substitute for a release list. Webster’s custody record supplies the physical exit. The Union court file supplies the legal basis. VINE may supply a noncustody date. KOOL applies only if the person entered KDOC custody or supervision.

Local news and official agency releases sometimes reproduce an arrest photograph, but no recurring Union or Webster release-photo archive was found. A dated arrest story establishes only what was reported then. It does not establish conviction, final disposition, or current custody. Read it with the signed court order and the jail release record.

When the question is who left local custody recently, use the Released Last 24 Hours fallback process. A photo is an identity aid. It is never the release event itself.

Preserve Union County Photo Context

Keep the source, booking date, and record identifier with any official image used for identification or a court process. Cropping away those facts can make an old booking look current. Webster and KOOL may display different photos because the agencies created them at different custody stages.

When an official source no longer provides an image, do not treat a commercial remnant as the authoritative replacement. Ask the custodian about access, restrictions, and expungement. Rely on current court and custody records for status. A photo’s continued visibility never supplies a current custody answer.

Union County’s two-county custody structure makes attribution essential. Label a Webster booking image as a Webster record connected to a Union arrest. Label a KOOL image as a KDOC offender photograph. Do not imply that the Union court created either image. The clerk’s file instead supplies the orders and disposition that give the booking event legal context.
